A Child’s Place at Unity House adopts The Pyramid Model
A Child’s Place at Unity House is dedicated to program-wide implementation of the Pyramid Model. The Pyramid Model has been adopted by NYS to support social and emotional competence in infants and young children. Some aspects of the Pyramid Model include building effective relationships with families and students, establishing effective classroom routines, schedules and transitions, and creating engaging classroom environments. The Pyramid model encourages family involvement and offers carry over ideas for home along with tips to promote social-emotional health among young children. The Pyramid Model is a positive and supportive approach to promote children’s success in school. Many of our staff have attended training on ways to implement the Pyramid Model throughout the classroom daily routine.
A Child’s Place has selected an “Owl” as the Pyramid model mascot and our program wide expectations are: Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible. You will be hearing and seeing more about the Pyramid model in the near future.
